Todos Santos Private Transportation
Mexico's Most Bohemian Magic Town
Todos Santos sits on the Pacific coast of Baja California Sur, about an hour north of Cabo San Lucas and a world away in atmosphere. It was designated a Pueblo Mágico “Magic Town” by the Mexican government, a recognition reserved for places with exceptional cultural and historical significance. It earns it.
The town is small enough to walk in an afternoon but layered enough to keep you busy for days. Colonial-era sugar mill ruins sit alongside contemporary art galleries. Boutique hotels occupy restored 19th-century haciendas. The Thursday market draws local farmers, ceramicists, and food vendors who have been coming for years. Hotel California, whether or not it inspired the Eagles song, remains one of the most photographed facades in Baja.
The Pacific beaches here are uncrowded and powerful. Punta Lobos is a working fishing beach where boats come in each morning with the catch. Playa Los Cerritos, a few miles south, is one of the most beginner-friendly surf breaks on the peninsula. From December through April, gray whales pass close to shore on their migration south. It is the kind of coastline that makes people extend their trips.
Getting to Todos Santos
Todos Santos does not have its own airport. Most visitors arrive from Los Cabos International Airport (SJD), roughly 80 minutes away by road via the Transpeninsular Highway. The drive north from Cabo passes through open desert and hits the Pacific coast just before town.
There is no reliable public transportation between Los Cabos and Todos Santos. Taxis from Cabo San Lucas exist but are expensive and inconsistent for longer journeys. Pre-booked private transportation is by far the most practical option, and for visitors combining Todos Santos with a stay in Cabo San Lucas or San José del Cabo, it makes the trip seamless in both directions.
