Land's End, Where It All Comes Together

Cabo San Lucas sits at the very tip of the Baja Peninsula, where the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Cortez meet at a dramatic rocky point called Land's End. It is the kind of place that is hard to leave. The marina is full of sport fishing boats heading out before dawn. The beaches fill up by mid-morning. By evening, the restaurants and bars along the waterfront are buzzing.

It was not always this way. For most of the 20th century, Cabo San Lucas was a quiet cannery town with a handful of residents and almost no tourism infrastructure. The arrival of Highway 1 in the 1970s changed everything. Today it is one of Mexico's most visited destinations, home to luxury resorts, world-class restaurants, championship golf, and a nightlife scene that draws visitors from across North America year-round.

What makes Cabo San Lucas different from the rest of the Los Cabos corridor is its energy. San José del Cabo has the art galleries and the colonial architecture. Cabo San Lucas has El Arco, the marina, Medano Beach, and a pace that never quite slows down. If you are looking for activity, this is where you want to be.

Getting Around Cabo San Lucas

Cabo San Lucas is compact enough to walk parts of downtown, but most hotels, resorts, and activities are spread across a wider area than visitors expect. Medano Beach, the marina, Land's End, and the resort zone each sit in different directions from the center. Getting between them without a plan adds up quickly in time and cost.

Cabo San Lucas is also the gateway to the Tourist Corridor, where many of the area's best golf courses and boutique hotels are located, and to San José del Cabo, about 30 to 45 minutes east. Day trips to Todos Santos and Los Barriles are also popular and well within reach.

Cabo San Lucas Transportation Services

Pre-booked transportation is the most reliable way to get around Cabo San Lucas. Taxi fares here are largely negotiated rather than metered, and while Uber operates in the area, it is not legally recognized in many parts of Los Cabos and is prohibited from picking up or dropping off at the airport. Uber pricing also surges in the evenings when the marina and restaurant strip are busiest. Knowing your rate in advance makes a real difference. Whether you are arriving at SJD, heading to dinner, or moving between the resort zone and downtown, Cabo Transfers has a service that fits.
